With no illness and challenging weather to hold us back the children enjoyed a packed week of fixtures last week, with only the boys' first team suffering a cancelled fixture. Matches were played against St Francis and Godolphin (U8s and U9s) and Chafyn Grove and Port Regis (U10s-U13s).

Here are a few highlights:

The U10As boys hockey produced an excellent all-round performance to defeat Chafyn 5-1. The boys showed great teamwork and communication in both attack and defence. George G was outstanding on the right wing, launching countless attacks as well as tracking back to support the defence. George scored two goals and had a hand in the other three which were scored by Sam S (2) and James S (1). The defence of Charlie, Jackson and Jono (GK) was rock solid throughout. William and Max both produced several important tackles and interceptions on the left wing.

The U13B girls' netball team had a resounding win against Port Regis. Emma L is to be commended for superb shooting. She and Martha C worked as a great unit in the D, and were very well supported by Eva and Madeleine. The final score was 15-3.

Kitty, who plays for the 3rd team, has had a super first half of term showing resilience and a real determination to improve and enjoy netball. In particular, her calm approach when in possession of the ball has resulted in very well-timed and placed passing. She also scored several times during both the match against Port Regis and during Friday's lesson. It has been a joy to watch her progress over these past weeks.
