Music Round Up

What a superb concert our cellists and double bassists put on, on Monday! Cellists from year 1 to year 8 delighted the audience with a variety of pieces, and the two double bass soloists added to the joyful occasion. It is always a treat to welcome parents as accompanists, and in this concert we had lots of parental talent on display. Well done to everyone.

The music room has been buzzing with the sound of composition this week; Year 4 worked out their own Drumming Patterns, Year 5 completed their Planets music, Year 6 made significant progress on their own Carnival of the Animals, and Year 7 got stuck into composing Fanfares and Marches. The Pre-Prep children have been working hard on their Harvest Festival songs, which they sing with great gusto!

Year 3 have made an enthusiastic start to Music Circus. Please could I politely ask that the instruments they bring home to try are enjoyed sensibly and not treated as toys. We had a few instruments and accessories that were slightly damaged last week, so please help us to ensure that the children play them carefully, in a suitable place (ie not while running around or outside!). Thank you for your help in this matter.
