Latest News from Pre-prep

Nursery have started thinking about senses and the sense touch. The children felt lots of things in the ‘feely’ bag and worked out if they were soft, spiky, hard etc. They also made some jelly to play with! The children have been busy painting some beautiful pictures for our class assembly on Wednesday and they are looking forward to showing them to their parents.

Reception made the most of the sunshine and went searching for signs of spring. They found blossom, bees and busy birds. They also found daffodils and crocuses. As a class they talked about the changes that are happening as we move from winter into spring. They then went on to plant our garden pots full of spring bedding plants to make our garden look cheery.

Year 2 has had a strong theme of riddles and elephants running through their work which tied in nicely with seeing the Year 3 & 4 play, Big Momma, about elephant poaching. We have been reading and writing riddles in English lessons having read a funny poem called Eletelphony and they continue reading their exciting class novel, ‘Akimbo and the Elephants’ by Alexander MCall Smith.
