All children are unique and at SCS we place individual children’s needs at the heart of everything we do. We recognise that all children have rich and varied talents, skills and interest and we aim to develop these in every single child, whatever they may be. Whilst the needs of the majority are met through differentiated planning, we recognise that some pupils can face barriers to learning and have additional learning needs. Our Learning Support Department has a strong team of highly qualified staff who work closely with teachers to identify gaps in learning and to plan and implement nurturing support for our pupils. Working in partnership with the pupils, parents and carers, teachers and other professionals we endeavour to offer a programme of support which allows each individual child to make the best progress possible and become increasingly independent and confident with their learning. Whether this be in-class support, tailored group sessions or additional one-to-one teaching, we always aim to provide the right provision to meet all children’s needs.
