At the heart of our English curriculum is our aim to instill a love of reading and writing, to feed children’s imaginations and ignite a passion for life. We foster in our children the ability to find their voice, to come to possess and express their opinions and their feelings both passionately and creatively. We give children the opportunity to find, know and express themselves.

In History and Geography and Religious Studies, we develop children’s knowledge of the world, through debate, fieldwork and philosophical thinking, so that they further understand their own culture and cultures from around the world. We want to give children opportunities to identify, investigate and respond to issues faced in the world, both in the past and today. We believe this instils in them the ability to make connections to the actions, lives and beliefs of others and to live their own lives with tolerance, understanding and compassion for all.
