Year 8's aluminium sculptures
Year 8 have just completed some really delightful aluminium sculptures. The sea creatures were crafted from sheet aluminium which has been cut, planished and folded. The children enjoyed this very noisy project which involved the use of hammers, mallets and the brazing torch which was used to anneal (soften) their sculpture as it work-hardened. Their sculptures are mounted on authentic Salisbury Cathedral stone which was removed from the east facade during recent restoration work.
