Year 6 to Avebury Ring

Year 6 had the most amazing day at Avebury. The children explored the henge and stone circle, as well as Silbury hill and West Kennet long barrow. The year group were incredible ambassadors for the school, and asked some brilliant questions to the local archaeologist on site. They loved investigating the artefacts in the museum, and then getting up close to the incredible Sarsen stones in the Avebury stone circle. The children were enthusiastic throughout the day, and completed a field sketch, as well as a treasure hunt using coordinates around the long barrow. A great adventure!
