Salisbury Cathedral School is named the ‘Best of the Best Prep School for Music’ by The Week Independent Schools Guide for the Third Time
Salisbury Cathedral School proudly announces its third win of the esteemed "Best of the Best Prep School Award for Music" from The Week magazine's Independent Schools Guide. Following their initial victories in 2016 and 2022, the school has once again been recognised for providing the ‘best of the best’ musical education in the UK.
Salisbury Cathedral School is celebrated for its commitment to nurturing musical talent among its students. With an impressive 90 percent of pupils learning an instrument, the school offers a variety of musical ensembles, including choirs, chamber ensembles, concert bands, and orchestras. Through over 25 annual concerts, students have ample opportunities to showcase their talents and participate in the joy of music.
This academic year, Salisbury Cathedral School proudly welcomed its first Griffiths Chapel Organ Scholar, marking a significant milestone in its musical journey. The school remains at the forefront of music education by being the first prep school in the UK to offer pipe organ scholarships.

This year six year 8 pupils have been awarded music scholarships to an array of leading senior schools, namely: Bryanston, Clayesmore, Godolphin, King’s Taunton,, Rugby, and Sherborne. Representing other avenues of the school’s broad curriculum, other pupils have also been awarded academic, sport and STEM scholarships.
