Salisbury Cathedral School celebrates new Good Schools Guide Review

Pupils, parents and teachers at Salisbury Cathedral School are delighted with the latest Good Schools Guide review which describes the school as a ‘big-hearted diverse school that buzzes with energy, enthusiasm and happiness’.

The review begins with a profile of Salisbury Cathedral School’s charismatic Head Master, Mr Clive Marriott, who joined the school in 2013 after 14 years at St Paul’s Cathedral School in London. Described as ‘enthusiastic, warm and empathetic’, the review explains how the school has ‘gone from strength to strength under his leadership’. Mr Marriott’s team also benefit from warm praise with the review commenting that ‘the teaching we saw was genuinely exciting’.

Unsurprisingly, the music at Salisbury Cathedral School is justifiably referred to as ‘sublime’ but not at the expense of academics, sport and co-curricular opportunities. Recent scholarships include academic, STEM and sports – as well as music of course – with an impressive 80% of students achieving an award to their chosen senior school. The review also notes the first-rate pastoral care, explaining that ‘everyone – children, teachers and support staff – look out for each other [at Salisbury Cathedral School]’.

Clive Marriott, Head Master, says: ‘It is so inspiring to read such a positive review of our school. Our pupils, parents and staff all contribute to our community and we have to agree that their enthusiasm, commitment and knowledge really do combine to create something special’.
