Leadership Activity Day at Cheltenham College

Leadership Activity Day at Cheltenham College

On Monday a group of Year 5s had an exciting and rewarding Leadership Activity Day at Cheltenham College, where they were led by the College’s Sixth Form students.

Throughout the day, the children worked in teams to complete eight different activities, each with its own rules and objectives. Every challenge required them to think carefully, solve problems, and work together to achieve the best possible outcome.

One of the most memorable activities was the tyre stacking challenge. Rose W described it by saying:
“The tyre stacking activity was so hard because it was difficult to keep them in order.”

As the day progressed, the children’s communication skills developed, learning the importance of listening carefully to instructions, respecting one another’s ideas, and knowing when to contribute and when to listen. Their teamwork was outstanding throughout the day.

The pupils celebrated each other’s successes and always spoke to one another with kindness and respect. If someone made a mistake, their teammates encouraged them and worked together to find a positive way forward. This supportive attitude helped the children grow in confidence and strengthened their ability to work as an effective team.

The children performed exceptionally well in all eight activities and were delighted to finish in second place overall.

Most importantly, their enthusiasm, resilience, excellent behaviour, and positive attitude were a credit to the school. They represented us superbly and should be very proud of everything they achieved.
