First ever Griffiths Chapel Organ Scholar
We are proud to announce that the school’s Peter Collins Pipe Organ has been fully repaired and refurbished during the summer holidays. The completion of the work times perfectly with our first ever Griffiths Chapel Organ Scholar, Max, joining the school. Max’s scholarship lasts for two years and includes organ lessons and performance opportunities. He will be the first organ scholar in a prep school in the UK.
We are indebted to the amazingly supportive SCS community for helping us realise our Pipe Dreams much faster than we anticipated. We launched the campaign to fund necessary repairs to the organ and an organ scholarship programme in May 2022 and now, just 16 months later, we have completed the works and found one of two organ scholars. We still have a place for a female organ scholar to start in 2024 and will continue to fundraise for future scholarship places and ongoing maintenance of the instrument.
