• Thursday 5 December 2024 Choristers and Candle Bearers Shine at Darkness to Light Services Last weekend, Salisbury Cathedral was transformed during the annual Darkness to Light Services, a deeply moving tradition marking the beginning of Advent. At the heart of this poignant event were our talented choristers, whose soaring voices brought a sense of awe and reflection to the proceedings.

• Monday 16 September 2024 Senior Chorister Promotions We celebrated our senior chorister promotions – with the girls' ceremony on 8th September and the boys' on 15th September. Huge congratulations to all our newly promoted senior choristers who have embraced their new responsibilities with pride.
• Thursday 12 September 2024 First thoughts from our new Head, Sally Moulton I have recently joined SCS as Head and am looking forward to many years’ tenure here. I have a strong track record of success in school leadership and was so drawn to the values that underpin daily life in this school. It is, without a doubt, an outstanding school that provides children with high quality teaching across a broad and balanced curriculum so that our pupils have opportunities to push at plenty of doors and explore their aptitude for what lies before them. We offer a huge variety of opportunities for children and cater for all family needs; whether that is a day place, flexi-boarding or the full boarding experience in our magical ‘home from home’ Old School House boarding accommodation. When I see the gorgeous experiences our pupils have here, I wish I had been a child at SCS when I was at school!

• Friday 17 May 2024 Salisbury Cathedral School Welcomes Second Griffiths Chapel Organ Scholar Salisbury Cathedral School has announced its second Griffiths Chapel Organ Scholar. Emma, age 10, was awarded the scholarship after a practical assessment and an interview with Susie Lamb, Director of Music at Salisbury Cathedral School. Emma will commence her two-year scholarship programme in September 2024.
• Monday 29 April 2024 Salisbury Cathedral School Hosts Successful Dangerous Things (You Should Let Your Child Do) Event Salisbury Cathedral School proudly hosted the 'Dangerous Things (You Should Let Your Child Do)' event on Saturday 27 April 2024, welcoming 130 children aged between 3 and 11 along with their families. The event provided a platform for the children to experience adventurous activities in a safe environment while promoting resilience, creativity, and community engagement.
• Monday 22 April 2024 Amici, host a murderously eventful supper The chorister parents’ group, Amici, hosted a murderously eventful supper night last Friday, which saw the BSR transformed into a glamourous Michelin starred restaurant for the evening. The winning team, which included our new head, Mrs Sally Moulton, displayed exemplary detective skills in solving the murder! The event was a sell-out and raised a whopping total of £1,771, all of which will be used to help fund the choral foundation charity and our hard-working cathedral choristers. A huge thank you to everyone who supported the event by buying a ticket, and particularly to those who worked behind the scenes to make it such a fabulous evening.

• Thursday 11 April 2024 Holy Week During Holy Week the Choristers had a busy schedule with some real highlights including James MacMillan’s Seven Last Words from the Cross, the Eucharist of the Last Supper on Maundy Thursday and the Good Friday Liturgy. The hard work was worth it as they had a thrill-seeking day out at Paultons Park on the Saturday, before singing Eucharist and Festal Evensong on Easter Day.
• Friday 22 March 2024 Spring Concert 2024 What a night! Congratulations to all the pupils, Susie Lamb, Director of Music and all the VMT's for an outstanding Spring Concert.
• Wednesday 20 March 2024 Congratulations to Carys in Y6 Congratulations to Carys in Y6 for gaining a bronze certificate in the bonus round of the Primary Maths Challenge. In the first round of the challenge Carys achieved a score high enough to put her through to the bonus round, which she tackled in the week before half term. Carys’ result puts her in the top 3.5% of the 64,000 children who entered the competition - a fantastic result. Well done, Carys!
• Monday 18 March 2024 Ladies' Day by Amanda Whittington On Friday, Year 8, supported by Year 7, ended a successful run of three nights of this popular and funny play. All the children must be congratulated on the hard work they put into this production - it was a massive team effort!
• Tuesday 12 March 2024 WINNER! 'Best of the Best Prep School for Music' by The Week Independent Schools Guide for the Third Time Salisbury Cathedral School proudly announces its second win of the esteemed "Best of the Best Prep School Award for Music" from The Week magazine's Independent Schools Guide. Following their initial victories in 2016 and 2022, the school has once again been recognised for providing the ‘best of the best’ musical education in the UK.

• Tuesday 23 January 2024 Boarders Burns Night Celebrations 2024 Thank you to Mr Hamish Mckeown for serenading the haggis at the boarders Burns Night supper and reading one of Robert Burns famous poems. Nick Denning and his catering team produced a Scottish feast of haggis, tatties and neaps with cranachan for pudding. After supper, Mrs Bedford taught all the children some Scottish dancing. Brilliant evening was had by all!

• Tuesday 23 January 2024 Proud to be the primary sponsor of Salisbury Hockey Club We are proud to be the primary sponsor of Salisbury Hockey Club which which will enable us to host more home matches and tournaments during the hockey season.
• Thursday 11 January 2024 Year 8 Music Scholars give an impressive performance Many congratulations to all the music scholars who performed so brilliantly on Thursday evening (only the second day of term!). We wish them all the very best of luck with their upcoming scholarship auditions.
• Wednesday 10 January 2024 Chorister parents sing evensong On Wednesday some of the chorister parents came together to sing evensong in the cathedral. Having watched their children do the same thing countless times, they thought they’d give it a go themselves! It was a great experience, although unfortunately the role reversal didn’t extend to their children cooking them dinner and washing up when they got home!Evensong is held daily at 5:30pm, with the (real) choristers singing most days. Everyone is always welcome to attend.

• Wednesday 29 November 2023 Ukrainian student becomes first pupil to receive organ scholarship A young Ukrainian boy has been selected as the first recipient of a scholarship at Salisbury Cathedral School that will see him through a training programme to learn the art of playing the organ.
• Friday 17 November 2023 Sherborne School Chamber Choir It was wonderful to see 5 ex choristers and pupils singing together once again in the Cathedral for Evensong on Wednesday. Sammy O'B, Archie B, Thomas A-V, Jasper B and Jack M are members of Sherborne School Chamber Choir who were the visiting choir for Evensong; singing in collaboration with the Sherborne Girl's Madrigal Society. Gone are those cherubic faces! But happily, they still sing beautifully, albeit several octaves lower!
