Introduction

Our school is one of thirty-nine choir schools in Britain and is home to two cathedral choirs which rehearse in preparation for daily cathedral services. It is unique in having two parallel choirs for girls and boys which are treated entirely equally in terms of age, financial support and number of services sung.

The benefits of being a chorister are many and varied and our choristers lead full and exciting lives. Their weekly routine of practices and services is further enriched by regular concerts, broadcasts, recordings and foreign tours. The choristers play a full part in the academic, sporting and extra curricular activities of the school.

Voice trials for choristers are held annually in January and February and an early informal audition is encouraged. Choristerships are offered by the Chapter of Salisbury Cathedral and are awarded after the successful completion of a voice trial, usually when a child is in Years 3 or 4.
