Carols and pipes begin the Christmas countdown

For the youngest in the school, glitter is an all year round joy! However, when the children begin making Christmas decorations it can only mean that the St Thomas' Christmas Tree Festival is imminent.

This year, every child from Nursery to Year 3 made an angel to hang on our school tree. It is taking pride of place at the front of the church. On Wednesday, we gathered in St. Thomas’ Church with the 4 to 8 year olds to sing our carols and celebrate this fabulous annual festival.

The children were amazing and delighted everyone who came to support. They talked politely and with confidence with members of the public, who were charmed by their confidence and musicality. Miss Lamb led the polished Year 2 children in their recorder pieces but probably, as always, the sound of 'Away in a Manger' reminded us that Advent and our preparations for Christmas have begun.

A wonderful start to our celebration. Well done everyone!
