Secret Keys

Secret keys conjurors up rusty locks and secret doors, and the Owls and Badgers had a chance to explore lots of these, when they visited the Cathedral today as part of their topic, Salisbury Our City.

The children were taken on a magical tour, finding the lock for the smallest key and the door which belonged to the largest key. The children gasped in amazement on several occasions, when stories were told of treasure in chests, which had been locked with seven different keys, and secret doors, hidden behind walls. We even witnessed the key which stopped the water flowing through the beautiful font!

Once again, the magnificent resource of our beautiful Cathedral, right on our door step, ceases to amaze us, with the wealth of learning experience and sheer excitement and wonder it brings to our smallest children. A huge thank you to Mr. Lewis and Mr. Davies for allowing us an insider view to these wonderful works of art.

Thank you for all the wonderful keys which you have sent into school. We have studied them carefully trying to work out if they are ancient or modern. We are looking forward to sketching and weighing the keys.
