Talented artists learn new skills at Canford

Seven enthusiastic artists, chosen from Years 5 to 7, accompanied Mrs Stredwick and Mr Newbery to Canford School for a print making workshop on Monday 23rd January.

The Art teachers and pupils from Canford led a fantastic workshop, making dry point printing blocks. The pupils chose different animals to copy, building up texture on Perspex sheets using dry point tools and sandpaper.

After creating the printing blocks they were then inked up before being rolled through the press and printed onto damp paper. The results were fantastic and everyone had a wonderful afternoon, learning a great deal and enjoying working in a senior school Art room. The completed prints will be on display in school after half term!
