New Deputy Head to join SCS in September

Salisbury Cathedral School is delighted to announce the appointment of its new Deputy Head, Nick Hawker, who will be joining the school in September.

Nick is currently Deputy Head and Director of Studies at Polwhele House School in Truro, giving him direct experience of senior leadership and management in a choir school setting. His particular areas of focus at Polwhele have been on raising academic standards as well as developing effective systems to monitor pupil progress. He also oversees the school’s extensive extra-curricular programme and, as an able musician and keen sportsman, has a great deal to offer other areas of school life.

He joins at an exciting time for the school as it has recently merged with Leaden Hall in the Cathedral Close. Both schools will be fully integrated in September, with younger children based on the river-side Leaden Hall site and older children on the Palace campus with its 20 acres of grounds.

Head Master, Clive Marriott, said: ‘I am greatly looking forward to working with Nick. His energy, enthusiasm and experience will be a huge asset as we move forward with the new school and I am confident that he will help us realise our vision to become one of the finest prep schools in the country’.
