Voices InSpire

Salisbury Cathedral School is delighted to be offering a Singing Outreach project with local Primary Schools.

The project, called Voices InSpire, was offered to all local primary schools back at the end of June, and within hours of sending out the information to schools, all 6 places for 2018-19 had been filled.
Voices InSpire kicked off in September with the two schools registered for this term, Winterslow and Old Sarum. Susie Lamb and Victoria Lane have been going into schools on a weekly basis to teach them a variety of songs.

Sponsorship in the form of funding from the JJ Charitable Trust, teaching time from the Cathedral School and use of the Cathedral for concerts has meant that the schools taking part can do so free of charge.

The first concert to celebrate the end of the initial term of Voices InSpire was held in the Cathedral last Friday (23rd November). This concert was a spectacular culmination of all the schools' work this term and the children involved have all shown dedication and talent over the term.

Woodlands Primary School also took part in the concert as Susie Lamb runs the school choir. Jazbytes ensemble performed to the 3 schools after their concert in the BSR.

Over the rest of the academic year, St Andrew’s, Laverstock, Downton Primary School, The New Forest School and Chilmark & Fonthill Bishop will join the project. Watch this space for further news!
