Blue Elephant wins Junior Entrepreneur competition

Business has been booming at SCS over the last few weeks as the year 8 children have worked tirelessly in the inaugural Friends of SCS Junior Entrepreneurs competition. Five teams competed but there could be only one winner and Team Blue Elephant was the proud recipient of the trophy. Theo Veitch, Maddie Coupe, Katie Darke and Charles Atkins are all looking forward to an exciting go-karting experience at Thruxton – in school time!

At the school fete Blue Elephant stall customers were invited to decorate their own cupcakes and indulge in some delicious homemade lemonade. The concept proved a roaring success delivering a whopping profit of nearly £200. Alongside profit, all participants were measured on their teamwork and professionalism through the whole process, which included making two formal presentations to the judging panel and the Headmaster. Coming an incredibly close second was Team H20 who worked hard to deliver a welcome car washing service. And, by all reports, some cars were very dirty indeed!

Our thanks go to Trethowans Solicitors for generously sponsoring the activity and to the judges: Andrew Mercer, Chairman of the Management Board & Partner, Trethowans; Alex Hawker, Girls Love Fit, Founder; Jonathan Hankey, JCB Garden Landscapes, Founder.

The total profit raised from all the teams in the activity will go to the Stroke Association as chosen by Team Blue Elephant.
