Novice scoops medal at IAPS National Judo Tournament

Cordelia (Year 6) gave an outstanding performance at the IAPS National Judo Tournament in High Wycombe against a weight category of seasoned fighters.

With only a term’s judo experience, she won her group with Ippon (the highest possible score need to end the contest). Her next opponent, who went on to take Gold, was just too much for this then tired, fledgling judoka. With a well-deserved 3rd place, Cordelia is a true sporting ambassador for the school.

Says coach Nick Lowe of his pupil, 'Cordelia was a pleasure to coach from the sidelines. She carried out our planned strategy to the letter, showing a maturity advanced for her tender years. I’m looking forward to charting her very exciting judo future.'
