DT Fan Boat Challenge

Year 7 pupils had great fun when they raced their Fan Boats across the school pool as part of their Design and Technology Fan Boat Challenge. Pupils have been designing, making, testing and refining their boats during their DT lessons this term. Even though their boats were extensively tested in a small tank in the workshop, no one really knew how well the boats would cope outdoors in a stiff breeze! Some of the boats sped across the pool at a great rate while others took a slightly more circular route! All the pupils thoroughly enjoyed the project and participated enthusiastically. Well done to all the year 7’s and sincere thanks to gap students Ross, Lucy and Kerrin who gave up their time to provide life-guarding, photography and cheerleading!
