Years 3 & 7 Visit Carymoor Environmental Centre
Pupils from Years 3 and 7 visited Carymoor Environmental Centre last week as part of their studies in geography and science. It was the smell of compost that hit the children first, steaming piles of rich soil. That was the good news. The bad news was the 20 million tonnes of rubbish in the old land fill and the space dug out for 30 million more. The smell of the freshly dumped refuse is unpleasant and the sight quite a shock. The children, the next generation, were not impressed and the afternoon activities set up by Carymoor, reminded them all to reduce the quantity of rubbish we produce, to re-use what we can and to recycle the rest.
