Year 8 Scholarships and Awards

 

Year 8 pupils have once again done exceptionally well in obtaining scholarships to leading senior schools across the country.  Eleven out of the eighteen pupils in Year 8 were awarded seventeen Music, Academic and Sport Scholarships or Awards to their chosen schools which included:-  Wells, Godolphin, Uppingham, Lancing, Cheltenham College, Sherborne, Canford, Dauntsey’s, Warminster, Downside, St Mary’s Calne, St Swithun’s, Chetham’s and St Helen’s & St Katherine’s.  Mr Ian Wicks, the Director of Music said “This tremendous record of achievement is a great testament to their hard work and dedication and they are a great credit to their teachers. Amongst these Awards are two coveted Specialist Music Places gained by Anita Monserrat to Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester and Elise Coward to Wells Cathedral School; these awards place them in the top 1% of musicians in the country. Many congratulations to all of Year 8.”
