Year 6 Visit Throope Manor
Under blue skies and in brilliant sunshine Year 6 spent two hours hunting for rare plants and butterflies on the Chalk Downland site of special scientific interest at Throope Manor. By kind invitation of Lord Head and with the help of an expert from English Nature they found the Blue Adonis Butterfuly and the very rare Green Hairstreak Butterfly. There was plenty of Horseshoe Vetch but it was too early for Orchids. The children enjoyed the opportunity to study a rare and beautiful environment so close to Salisbury and yet so well preserved. Thank you to Mrs Wicks and Mr Stewart who organised the trip.
