Year 3 Trip to Hampton Court
Hampton Court Palace, the magnificent home of Henry VIII and Cardinal Wolsey, was the destination of Year 3 on a recent trip to London. This was a visit which stirred the imagination and brought to life the spirit of the Tudor age which they have been studying in their History lessons. Adorned with decorations, tapestries and paintings (some of which the children had been studying in detail in class and were enchanted to see in real life), the Palace provided a wealth of fascinating new information, and an educational workshop in Henry VIII’s kitchens really captured their imagination.
The architecture and atmosphere of the buildings, the splendid interiors and their association with the personalities of the period ensured that the children left Hampton Court Palace with a lasting impression of the world of Henry VIII.
