Year 3 Autumn Picnic in the New Forest
The countryside is an endless resource for learning and it was with this in mind that Year 3 pupils decided to leave their books behind for a few hours and experience for themselves the wonders of an early Autumn day in the New Forest. A picnic, deer watching , den building, enthusiastic investigation of a variety of vegetation in various stages of autumn decay and an energetic romp in the woods proved both educational and memorably enjoyable for the children. It also provided the inspiration for some excellent language work.
