Harvest Festival

We celebrated Harvest Festival with a bumper load of tins and boxes and packets donated by all the children and the staff for the Trussell Trust. Everyone's generosity was amazing and our tables were literally groaning with all the Harvest gifts! Our Year 3 had made some speciall Harvest loaves in their Art classes and these were shared out at Harvest lunch to go with the soup made from vegetables grown in our own school garden. We had a lovely service which was attended by a special guest - a Master Rees Iekle. He was made from all things recyclable and he was used to encourage us all to celebrate harvest all year long by looking after our world carefully and thoughtfully. We also took a number of small boxes filled with goodies to the College of Matrons in the Close. We always visit them at this time of year and even though the heavens opened and the rain poured down the Chaplain, the Revd Jenny Taylor and the Year 3 with their teacher Mrs Jane Greenfield all had a lovely time giving each lady a Harvest box and then eating delicious biscuits made by the Warden, Mrs Julia Jones. The weather was terrible but our Harvest Festival Day was one filled with the sunshine of generosity, fun and worship!
