Fiddler on the Roof
“Fiddler on the Roof”
One hundred children from the ages of seven to thirteen were involved in the school’s latest major musical, “Fiddler on the Roof”, which was performed to packed houses on three successive evenings last week. The story, set in a small village during the Russian Revolution, follows the fortunes of a poor Jewish family, struggling to hold on to traditional ways in the face of a changing world. A strong, poignant story line and some hauntingly beautiful and memorable songs made this a very popular choice with the pupils, who performed with confidence, enthusiasm and to a very high standard. They thoroughly enjoyed working as part of a large team and learnt a great deal in the process.
