Election Fever Grips the Prep School
There is definitely General Election fever around the school now. The feelings of anticipation have
been increased by the visits of John Glen, the Conservative party candidate
and Nick Radford, our Liberal Democrat candidate and ex-pupil. The children
listened very attentively to these ‘real’ politicians and came up with
some heartfelt and very wise questions.
On Thursday 6th May we will start the day with a forum where four Year 8 pupils,
representing Conservatives, Greens, Labour and Liberal Democrat will put
forward their policies. This will be followed by a question and answer session.
During the morning children and staff will bring their voting cards to receive
their individual ballot papers and then vote in our secret ballot. Our mock
election will be very much like the real thing. By the time the children leave
school, they will know the result of our election. It has been explained to the
children that our poll result may differ from the national result!
